The feasibility studies of Fako Resources Sarl Bauxite project in Kindia, carried out by BFG Consulting and Services, a Guinean multinational mining, geology and engineering consultancy company, has been validated by officials of the Ministry of Mines and Geology.
The General Manager in charge of Mining Projects in Guinea better known in French as Projects Minier, Mme Christine MORGAN, announced the validation, few minutes after the feasibility studies of the project was presented to different officials of the ministerial department at the conference room of the Ministry of Mines and Geology, on Wednesday August 7 2019, in Conakry “ The projected will have an average production plan of 5 million tons of bauxite per year for a period of 17 years.

BFG Consulting and Services which carried out the feasibility studies did a good job in explaining every detail about the project. If all goes well, they will enter the exploitation phase very soon” said Mme Morgan.
She added that the Ministry of Mines officials will carry out a field mission very to confirm the study and an exploitation license will be subsequently issued and handed to Fako Resources Sarl.
Senior Honorary Chairman of FAKO Sarl Resources, Dr. David Makongo, International Legal Consultant on Mining Issues and Advisor to BFG Consulting and Services, disclosed that Fako and its partners will invest US $ 170 million in the industrial exploitation of bauxite in Kindia. He said the Guinean government to benefit in terms of income some 417 million US dollars and local communities 11 million US dollars. Dr David Makongo who flew in from his base in the USA for the presentation of the feasibility studies also announced the creation of around 1000 direct jobs for young Guineans. Mining officials at the presentation praised Dr. David MANKONGO, and described him as the lone businessman who sells the Guinean mining sector abroad and considered him as a patriot.

His donation of farm tools to vulnerable rural women in Guinea were also highlighted. In response Dr Makongo replied by disclosing that since the arrival of Abdoulaye MAGASSOUBA as Minister of Mines and Geology as well as other officials who work with him, Guinea has a big chance of developing its mining potentials to the fullest. “All these officials brought a dynamism in the Ministry of Mines and is the reason why many companies do not have trooping into Guinea,” he said.
The General Manager of BFG Consulting and Services, Guinean born Sereko Camara, added that the investors in the project intend to carry out the construction of their own transport infrastructure as required by the Ministry of Mines and Geology. “A mining road will be constructed or rehabilitated and we will make use of the existing Konta port. It is envisaged that there would be a road from the mining site to the storage area of the Port located in the village of Konta in the Forecariah area,” he said.
Speaking of job creation, he revealed that local content would be given due consideration. "Then there will be 300 employees during the operation. In accordance with local content, more than 1,500 indirect jobs will also be created during the operation,” said Sereko Camara.
